Indian River, Michigan
INLAND WATERWAY is a 38 mile series of navigable lakes and rivers
spanning from near Lake Michigan all the way to Lake Huron here in the
beautiful Tip of the Mitt. Boaters enjoy Crooked Lake, near Conway, the
Crooked River and its forested banks. The river then feeds into
expansive Burt Lake- the fishermanís favorite over 11 miles in length.
Waters then flow to Indian River past beautiful waterfront homes,
wetlands and marshes teeming with wildlife- otters, mink, beaver, swans,
geese, eagles and osprey. The Indian River leads to spectacular Mullett
Lake- a boaterís paradise and 12 miles long. From the north end of
Mullett Lake flows the Cheboygan River. Just into the river mouth the
waterfront Hack-Ma-Tac Restaurant awaits the hungry boater. Farther up,
youíll find areas of tall water grasses and cedar stands. The Cheboygan
River houses a set of Locks before the brave boater enters Lake Huron.
